Greeting friends…… 2018 has started out like gang busters in the Carolina Stitcher finishing studio~ I hope your New Year is beginning nicely and you’re managing to stay warm.... We, like so many, have had crazy winter weather since Christmas ~ My Hands have been busy as have the finishes I’m creating for others.... I’d like you to take a look....
I felt like this sweet Stone Street Stitchworkes coffee mug design needed a special touch....
It’s a flat back round finish with mini Pom-Pom trim.... Hanging from a small nail on the wood&metal tabletop envelope I found at Michaels...
I tucked a few sprigs of greenery and an old crochet doily inside.....
The Stitch itself has detachable ribbons.... A subtly primish look.....
You simply hang your Stitch on the little nail.... Reusing the hardware and simply replacing with seasonal stitching makes this type of finishing very attractive to me..... My customer is thrilled!
It’s free standing, can be leaned on an easel or hung on the wall.... A very versatile finish! I can see a Patriotic Stitch hanging with geraniums and small vintage flags popping out of the “envelope”.....
I liked it so much that I make 2..... So, there you have it! Thinking a little outside out of the box with a Carolina Stitcher spin on things………
I’ll end with a picture walk of finishes I completed in Dec, but was asked to not put on my blog until after gift giving season...
Little House Needlework “Tree Lot”.. (portion of the chart)
......with a tiny stitched tree and ribbon on the back...
Heartstring Samplery~ Coffee Quaker made into a flatfold....
Prairie Schooler Annual Santa 1989
An awesome collection of Littlehouse Needleworks pin pillows for her doughbowl... all edged in Dames of the Needle mini Pom-Pom ~
Lizzie Kate Very Merry Santa Kircher... I added the piped edging and fully lined it....
Well, that’s it for now…… soon I’ll post about my current large Sampler Stitch, meeting Nicola Parkman, my nieces new sweet baby and a couple finishes from the heart.... Until then, stay warm, grateful and stitching ~
